Battlers end Knights’ win streak, go 1-2 last week
  by Kris Beuckens

The Knights’ boys’ basketball team lost for the first time of the season last Tuesday night to #4 state-ranked Battle Lake and then lost again, this time to Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, two nights later. In each of the losses, the Knights shot very poorly from the field while their opponents shot 50 percent or better. The WCA boys bounced back for a nice win, 64-38, over Henning on Friday night.

As a result of last week’s action, the Knights (6-1, 10-2) were edged out of the top spot in the Prairie Conference by Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (6-1, 11-1). Upsala (4-3, 9-6) is in third place, followed by Browerville (4-3, 8-7), St. John’s Prep (4-3, 5-6), Swanville (3-4, 6-6), Osakis (1-6, 2-11), and Royalton (0-7, 2-11).

This week, the Knights will host Section 6A foe Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Tuesday night and Conference rival St. John’s Prep on Friday.
