North Ottawa Project Phase IV Construction

The Bois de Sioux Watershed District, at the Office of the Bois de Sioux Watershed District, 704 Hwy 75 South, Wheaton, MN 56296, will receive sealed bids until 1:00 P.M., May 29, 2008 for the North Ottawa Project Phase IV Construction. The bids will be publicly opened and read thereafter at the District Office.

Bids must be placed in a sealed envelope with the following statement thereon: “Bid Proposal for North Ottawa Project Phase IV Construction, Bois de Sioux Watershed District”.

Major items of work include the following approximate quantities:

67,100 CY Common Excavation
181,000 CY Haul Excavation
227 TON Type LV3 Bituminous Wear & Non-Wear
640 LF Various 6’x6’ – 16’x10’ RC Box w/30 End Sect.

Bids will be received and one contract will be awarded for the work.

Plans, specifications and contract documents may be obtained upon request from the office of the Bois de Sioux Watershed District, 704 Hwy 75 South, Wheaton, MN 56296. The plans will cost $75.00 and will be non-refundable. Make checks payable to Bois de Sioux Watershed District. All costs associated with preparation of bids shall be borne by the Bidder.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder’s Bond in a sum equal to ten percent of the full amount of the bid, executed by the Bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in this state. No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least 30 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids, without the consent of the owner.

The Bois de Sioux Watershed District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities therein, and further reserves the right to award the contract to serve the best interests of the District.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS: Sealed Proposals will be received by the County Auditor, Courthouse, Elbow Lake, MN until 1:30 P.M. on May 20, 2008 for the following on CSAH 6:

SAP 26-606-03 From TH 9 in Herman to 3.9 miles east.

The major quantities of work are 7,900 Ton Aggregate Shouldering Class 5 Mod; 7,000 Ton Wearing Course; 12,000 Ton Non-Wearing Course; and 41,200 feet of 4” White Epoxy.

Proposals, Plans and Specifications may be examined and secured at the office of the County Engineer, PO Box 1005, Elbow Lake, MN 56531. A non-refundable charge of $30.00 will be made for Plans and Proposals, which will include sales tax.

Bids must be accompanied by a certified check made payable to the Treasurer of Grant County or a Corporate Bond made in favor of Grant County for at least 5% of the amount bid.

The right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive defects thereof.

SECTION 00030 - ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for the construction of the Elbow Lake West Substation, according to the drawings and specifications on file in the office of the Ulteig Engineers, Inc. will be re­ceived by City of Elbow Lake at its office until 2:00 p.m., June 3rd, 2008, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. The Contract Docu­ments may be examined at the following locations:

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained through QuestCDN.com #682546 for $20.00 or at the office of Ulteig Engineers, Inc. located at 3350 - 38th Ave. S., Fargo ND 58104, upon payment of $75.00 for each set. Payment will not be refunded.

Bids shall be upon the basis of cash payment for: Installation of one 41.6 kV-4.16, 4 circuit, 5 MVA distribution substation and three underground feeders. Demolition of existing substation will also be included.

Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder’s security in a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the full amount of the Bid, executed by the Bidder as prin­cipal and by a surety company authorized to do business in this state, conditioned that if the principal’s Bid be accepted and the contract awarded to the principal, the principal, within ten days after Notice of Award, shall execute and effect a con­tract in accordance with the terms of his Bid and a Contractor’s Bond as required by law and the regulations and determinations of the governing body. The Bid security of the three lowest Bidders will be retained until the contract has been awarded and executed, but no longer than sixty (60) days. The Bid security is a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into contract for the work described in the Proposal. The Bidder may submit a Bid Bond, or cashier’s check payable to Elbow Lake Municipal Power.

The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Contract Performance and Payment Bonds in the full amount of the contract.

No Bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the above provisions as to Bond and licenses, and any deficient Bid submitted will be resealed and re­turned to the Bidder immediately.

The work on the improvement is to be entirely completed by November 30, 2008.

The right of the Owner to reject any and all Bids is re­served.
