For the long run
The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run, an international torch relay, ran through Grant County last Thursday, pausing for a few moments in Ashby around 11:00 a.m. A three person team were carrying the peace torch on a leg from Sabin, MN to Alexandria. Yu Yu Dhan carried the torch into Ashby and lit the torch of Salil Wilson who continued on towards Alexandria. The continuous relay will link Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. during its four-month journey covering over 10,000 miles before arriving in New York mid-August. Now in its third decade, the Peace Run was inspired by the visionary Sri Chinmoy as a way to give citizens a dynamic way to express their own hopes and dreams for a more peaceful and harmonious world. An athlete, philosopher, artist, musician, and poet, Sri Chinmoy dedicated his life to advancing the ideals of world harmony. For more information go to www.peacerun.org.
